Cardamom & Maple Syrup Latte
A warmly spiced, lightly sweet latte with aromatic cardamom and rich maple for cozy coffeehouse vibes from your own kitchen.
Ingredients
• 2 espresso shots (double shot) of your favorite Salt & Cheeni coffee beans
• 1 cups milk (dairy/non-dairy)
• 1-1.5 tablespoons pure maple syrup (sweetness level to taste)
• 1/4 teaspoons ground cardamom
• 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 pinch of ground cinnamon (for garnish)
Steps
1. Make the cardamom maple syrup: In your mug, stir together the pure maple syrup, ground cardamom, and vanilla extract until fully combined. This blooms the cardamom in the syrup and builds a deeper, more aromatic flavor.
2. Pull your espresso: Brew 2 espresso shots (double shot) directly into your mug over the cardamom maple mixture. Stir immediately so the hot espresso fully combines with the syrup.
3. Steam or froth the milk of your choice.
4. Pour the hot milk into the mug slowly, holding back the foam with a spoon, then spoon the foam on top. Dust with 1 pinch of cinnamon to garnish. Sip and savor the moment immediately.
Tips & variations:
Iced version: Let espresso cool slightly, pour over ice, then add cold milk and the syrup mixture. Shake or stir well.
Stronger cardamom: Use ¼ tsp freshly ground pods from crushed green cardamom for a more floral, intense hit.
Extra indulgent: Add a small pinch of black pepper to the syrup to enhance the cardamom beautifully.
No espresso machine: Use about 2 oz of strong moka pot coffee or 2 shots of concentrated cold brew.
